The publication “The elitist particle filter based on evolutionary strategies as novel approach for nonlinear acoustic echo cancellation” by Christian Hümmer, M.Sc., Christian Hofmann, Dr.-Ing. Roland Maas, Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Schwarz and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Walter Kellermann won a ‘Best Student Paper Award’ at the ‘IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing’ (ICASSP) 2014 in Florence, Italy. The paper was selected as the best paper in the field of ‘Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing’ and received a 3rd prize in the overall ranking. A total of 6 publications from 1067 ‘Student Papers’ were awarded. The conference is considered the world’s premier signal processing conference, receiving more than 3,000 submissions annually.
